Administrative Support Assistant (OA)

You will answer the telephone, greet visitors at the Headquarters building and provide general information and direct visitors to appropriate personnel for specific information. Receive, prepare and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, maintain central filing systems and anticipate needs, assemble reports, files, and documents relating to data calls. You will serve as property clerk, assist with the annual inventory and disposal of excess property in accordance with applicable procedures. You will review or conduct the purchasing of micro-purchases and promptly submit payments on all park invoices, order and maintain stock items and perform or oversee supply functions checking items against acquisition documents for completeness, and resolving discrepancies with the shipping companies. You will use computers and appropriate software for data collection and, analysis to and collate and prepare reports, forms, and tabular material. Pay utility bills and assist the Budget Analyst with reviewing credit card statements. You will act as backup travel coordinator and prepare travel documents including authorizations and vouchers. Provide technical assistance to all travelers. Track outstanding travel authorizations and take steps to ensure completion of travel vouchers in a timely manner. Prepare payroll for office employees and serves as timekeeper when needed. Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level using computerized information systems performing administrative functions such as payroll, personnel, travel, purchasing, files management. The preparation of a variety of forms and reports typing correspondence, memos from rough drafts and notes, and organizing and analyzing numerical information. Work experience includes communicating and meeting and dealing cooperatively with others. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
At the GS-05 level:
Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. Graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience and divide by 12 months. Then take the number of months of full time experience and divide by 12 months (must equal 50% or better). Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
